coastal

Like high desert, painting coastal settings signifies an intermission from my daily life and my usual scenery. Most of my coastal paintings depict Ogunquit, Maine. My wife’s mother and aunts first begin spending time in Ogunquit as college girls in the 1930s, returning yearly for their summer jobs. It has become a special place for Jane and her family and subsequently for me. As an early colony for creatives, Ogunquit is home to many places considered to be historic artist magnets. Many of these places, including  Narrow Cove, I have been lucky enough to paint in. The beauty of the water, and the satisfaction of properly painting something unfamiliar continues to bring me back to these places.

I would  love for you to support your favorite non-profit and acquire some of the art I have made over the last 40+ years!
